Blackbird.io: The Content Transformation Platform

The content orchestration platform we build on: 150+ integrations, visual workflows, and governed AI. LangOptima is a certified implementation partner.

The platform underneath our orchestration work

Blackbird.io is a content orchestration platform: the layer that connects your CMS, translation tools, support desk, marketing stack, and AI models so they behave as one system instead of a stack of disconnected parts. Blackbird calls it the Content Transformation Platform; the industry category is Business Orchestration and Automation Technology (BOAT).

Blackbird is not a translation management system, and it does not replace the tools you already run. It sits above them. Workflows are built on a visual canvas with low-code configuration, so the people who own the process — project managers, localization leads, content operations — can change it without filing an engineering ticket.

How it works — three parts

  • Apps. More than 150 pre-built integrations: CMS platforms such as Contentful, Adobe Experience Manager, and HubSpot; translation systems such as Trados, Crowdin, and Smartling; plus storage, support desks, and marketing tools. These are more than API wrappers — each app carries real capability, like converting CMS content into translation-ready formats automatically. An SDK covers anything that isn't pre-built.
  • Birds. Blackbird's workflows: visual, configurable flows that span multiple tools and branch on business logic. Content moves, gets translated and adapted, and lands where it belongs — without a manual handoff in the middle.
  • Checkpoints and governance. Control steps that pause a workflow for a review, an approval, or an external event before it continues. AI models — Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Vertex AI, Mistral, and others — run inside the flow with a human in the loop where judgment matters. Oversight is built in, not bolted on.

Built for content, not just data

General-purpose automation tools move data between systems. Blackbird was built for content and language operations: it understands formats, languages, and the context that travels with a piece of content through a supply chain of tools, vendors, and reviewers. That is the difference between wiring two APIs together and running a governed content engine.

What teams achieve with Blackbird

"We've been able to create automated workflows to support our customized integration needs for varied use cases in Contentful, Zendesk and Braze. We've also built our own app on Blackbird connecting our internal AI model." — Miro
"Leveraging Blackbird.io has been a game-changer. What used to take 30 minutes now takes, literally, just 10 seconds. The platform is fast, seamless, and has drastically improved our team's productivity. It's transformed how we handle localization." — Remote.com
"Through Blackbird, we were able to cut our ticketing process down by 41%. The ability to connect various systems together has simplified our processes and reduced the amount of touchpoints and systems we need to manage on a day-to-day basis." — Square

The platform is half the answer

A platform like Blackbird still needs someone to decide what to orchestrate first, design the workflows, and run them until they hold. That is the service side of BOAT — and it is what we do. LangOptima is a certified Blackbird.io implementation partner.
